The Importance of Upgrades in World of Warcraft
Upgrades are a brand new type of item that gives a boost to your stats. These can be used to upgrade armor, trinkets and weapons.
To calculate probabilities, item upgrades use a "upgrade pity". This system is designed to reduce the risk of losing money and offer security when upgrading.
Armor
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade the equipment level of their trinkets, armor and weapons. The upgrade is applied to equipment when you visit an item upgrader NPC with the appropriate currency. When you upgrade an item, it will improve the stats of that item.
This NPC can be found in every major city and is located in the corner of the city square near a teleport point. The NPC is able to upgrade any armor, weapon, or trinket except for those that require a quest, or crafting.
Note: The item used to upgrade your gear is destroyed for ever. There are no multiple upgrades applied to one piece of equipment. Attempting to apply an upgrade on one that has already been applied will cause the previous upgrade to be overwritten.
Upgrade your equipment to increase the damage, your survival and your overall power. For instance, if have new Benthic gear from the War Within Mythic Dungeon, it will be ilvl 385 by default, and can be upgraded to a higher level using [Prismatic Manapearlsor [Prismatic Manapearls]. Upgrades to your PvE gear are account-wide. Upgrades to your PvP gear require a specific currency such as [Valorstones] and [Harbinger Crests]. The amount of Valorstones needed to upgrade additional gear within an armor slot decreases after the first upgrade.
Weapons
Weapons are a key component of any successful character, whether used to ward off a murderous creature, kill an intruder, win an shooting competition or simply hang on the wall. It doesn't matter how you intend to make use of weapons. It can be upgraded and will change with your playstyle as time goes on.

Once a weapon has been fully upgraded, the player can continue to upgrade it so long as he/she has the appropriate upgrade materials and currency. You should be aware that weapons are only able to reach 25 ilvl, and not higher. As a result, players should only upgrade their weapons after they've accumulated the maximum amount of upgrades from regular and Whetblade items.
Trinkets
The Trinkets provide a variety of Boosts. They can be upgraded just like any other equipment by directly interacting with the Item Upgrader.
